It’s that time of year again — the road to #DCF2026 begins now! ✨

We’re thrilled to announce that competition sign-ups for the Brewers Cup, Cup Taster, and Barista Championshipopen on October 31 at 11:59 AM.


From January 30 – February 1, 2026, TAP1 in Copenhagen will once again become the beating heart of Denmark’s coffee scene — three days filled with competition, community, and celebration of the craft that unites us all.

Competing in the Danish Coffee Championships isn’t just about the trophies — it’s about growth, discovery, and sharing your passion for coffee on one of Denmark’s biggest stages.

Whether you’re a first-time competitor or a returning champion, taking part means joining a long tradition of baristas and brewers who push the craft forward with creativity, precision, and heart.


💡 Here’s what you gain as a competitor:

Personal growth and confidence – Nothing compares to the experience of presenting your craft to expert judges and an enthusiastic audience.

Professional recognition – Competing is an incredible way to showcase your skills, elevate your career, and connect with the wider specialty coffee community.

Representation and opportunity – Winners go on to represent Denmark at the World Coffee Championships, stepping onto the global stage among the world’s best.

🏆 About the Competitions

This year’s competitions will once again feature three of the most anticipated categories in the Danish coffee scene:

☕ Brewers Cup

A showcase of craftsmanship, clarity, and sensory excellence. Competitors present their unique brewing methods and coffees to a panel of judges, combining science, precision, and storytelling in every cup.

👅 Cup Taster Championship

The ultimate test of sensory skills. Speed, accuracy, and focus define this exciting competition where baristas must identify taste differences across multiple cups of coffee under time pressure.

🎤 Barista Championship

The cornerstone of coffee competitions. Competitors prepare espressos, milk drinks, and signature beverages while sharing their personal coffee stories. Every detail counts — from flavor balance to service and presentation.


These championships are more than contests — they are platforms for innovation and connection, where Danish coffee professionals showcase their craft and celebrate the diversity of coffee as both a beverage and a culture.


💡 Don’t Get Discouraged — Join the Waiting List

If you don’t secure a spot right away, don’t lose hope! We encourage everyone to join the waiting list. Each year, we see cancellations, and we always offer open spots to baristas who are ready to compete.

Being on the waiting list ensures you stay in the loop — because in this community, persistence often pays off.


⚠️ Important Update for Competitors

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a growing number of last-minute cancellations, leaving some ready baristas unable to compete. To keep things fair for everyone, we’re introducing a new rule for 2026:

👉 Cancellations after November 15 will result in a one-year competition ban.

We understand that life happens, and if you have an extraordinary reason, please reach out. ❤️But we ask all competitors to sign up thoughtfully — every competition slot represents someone’s opportunity to share their craft.

Organizing the Danish Coffee Championships is a massive collective effort. It takes months of planning, coordination, and volunteer dedication from judges, organizers, and sponsors to bring these stages to life.

When competitors cancel late, it affects not only the schedule but the experience for everyone — reducing the time, energy, and resources that could go toward improving the festival and competition quality.

By committing fully, you help strengthen the community, respect the time of your peers, and ensure the championships continue to grow year after year. 🙏

  • Brewers Cup Compulsory - Friday 10.00-13.45

  • Cup Tasters Preliminary - Friday 14.15-18.00

  • Brewers Cup Preliminary - Saturday 10.00-13.45

  • Barista Preliminary - Satuday 14.15-18.00

  • Brewers Cup and Barista Finals - Sunday 10.00-15.00

  • Cup Tasters Finals - Friday 15.00-18.00
